Inhalt

This course provides an introduction to interactive virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) from a human-computer interaction (HCI) perspective. Students will explore the principles, technologies, and design challenges of immersive systems, including key topics such as 3D interaction techniques, human perception, user interface design in XR, and evaluation methods. The course emphasizes hands-on experience using modern VR/AR hardware (e.g., Meta Quest headsets) and Unity to implement interactive prototypes. Alongside weekly lectures, students will engage in practical exercises and develop a final project that applies HCI concepts in immersive environments. Broader societal and ethical implications of immersive technologies will also be discussed.

Qualifikationsziele

After completing the course, students will be able to design, implement, and evaluate interactive VR/AR applications with an understanding of HCI principles. They have the technical and conceptual skills to work with contemporary XR systems and apply user-centered design approaches to immersive experiences. Students will also develop the ability to critically assess user interaction in 3D environments and reflect on the implications of immersive technologies.
