Medical image data, imaging techniques, properties of 2D and 3D scalar, vector and tensor data, basic visualization techniques, isosurfaces, rendering, transfer functions, volume rendering, particle tracking, Line integral convolution, Interactive visualization techniques.

The students know the basic procedures for visualising medical image data and know which algorithms exist for this and how they are applied.
